We all miss seeing our favorite local bands at all the great bars and venues in Western Mass.
Thankfully many of those artists are bringing music to us in our homes through live streams.
It would be impossible to list all of the bands doing this “virtual busking,” but here are a few recurring ones that will get you started.
You can feel free to add more using the form on the left. Please don’t list anything right before it starts.
Spring is when the Montague Bookmill comes alive. The windows are open, the tables are outside, lamprey are climbing the waterfall, and music returns to the upstairs.
Until those things can return the Bookmill will be hosting some of those artists who were going to play for live streams on their facebook page.
It’s not quite the same without the sound of the waterfall but we have to take what we can get.
Local bluegrassy Americana band Mamma’s Marmalade have been doing live streams from their respective homes at lunch time on Wednesday.
Even if you’re working from home you still probably need a break on hump day.
The schedule changes occasionally so be sure to check their facebook page for details.
The brand spankin new Lava Center in Greenfield is putting together an online open mic.
Anyone can submit a recorded video of them performing music, reading poetry, juggling cats, whatever.
They will then cut those together and release it on youtube.

The Shea Theater, Dwellings, Hawks & Reed, and the Stone Church have joined together for a series of streams under the banner Quarantunes.
There’s a huge variety of stuff to check out all linked to one facebook page.
The folks over at Signature Sounds Presents bring you yet another way to enjoy great music.
The Parlor Room Home Sessions feature Signature Sounds artists and Parlor Room favorites.
They’ve even been kind enough to share them on a website and archive them for those not social media inclined.
